About Diverse Landscapes

The name Diverse Landscapes was first registered by Robert Pullock in 1996.  As a result of Robert moving abroad, I purchased the business and its trading name in 1998 from Robert.  We started with a staff compliment of 6, a student apprentice, a bantam bakkie and a fax machine.

In the early days, projects were limited to small scale domestic landscaping for private homes.  Referrals from those first clients were the foundation to our growth.  We still provide our services to many of our existing clients, and referrals are still the backbone of most of our work.

From January 1996 until June of 1997, we entered into a merger with Robyndale Landscapes with the intention of building a larger business, pooling our resources together. It was a wonderful experience in many ways; however it was obvious that an individually owned business is the best way of providing the best individual service to our clients.

Currently I am assisted by 2 exceptional managers, and our staff compliment is a team of 8 landscapers, 6 maintenance staff, 6 site supervisors, one nursery lady and our admin team.  The scale of our work is almost unlimited, with projects of all sizes in domestic landscaping, housing developments, schools, factories, commercial property, estates and rehabilitation projects.

We are able to provide what we call a “turnkey” operation, which means that we design all aspects of an outdoor space from plants to signage, and everything else in-between.  We then manage the entire project, overseeing the various contractors, and in association with the relevant specialists.

Our geographical map covers the greater Durban and Pietermaritzburg region of KwaZulu Natal.

Our Passion is to create a space which is unique to the individual needs of each client, achieving a balance between the build and the natural elements of each space.
